Dealing with Hip and Back Pain Postpartum

  • Dec 7, 2020

In the postpartum period, the abdominal and core muscles need to be retrained and strengthened in order to support movement, stabilize the spine and aid in lifting any weight.

In order to do this, there are some basic exercises shown in the video below, but more importantly, focusing on correct breathing connection and understanding abdominal bracing will help 'wake up' these muscles.

It's important to recognize that your abdominal muscles, hip flexors and lower back muscles all work together - so strengthening and stretching all of these systems over time will help alleviate muscle pain you may have.

When in doubt - visit an RMT or Physio that can help with treatment.
